Compliance & Certification

GTS Fire Protection are an Accredited Fire Safety Practitioner with the Fire Protection Association Australia and can look after your certification process.

Fire certification reforms were introduced in NSW from 1 July 2020. The changes were fast paced and can sometimes cause confusion with building owners or managing agents trying to understand their new obligations.

An Annual Fire Safety Statement (AFSS) must be issued each year and include all the essential fire safety measures that apply to a building.

 

The statement also verifies that an Accredited Practitioner - Fire Safety (APFS - this was formerly known as a Competent Fire Safety Practitioner or CFSP) has inspected and confirmed that the fire systems in the building are in compliance with the Regulation.
